About Our Lawyers

Jeffrey F.P. Borrell
Jeffrey F.P. Borrell graduated from Rider College in 1979 with a BA in political science and psychology. In 1982, Mr. Borrell graduated from Howard University School of Law with a Juris Doctorate degree and was admitted to the New York Bar in 1984 and to the Colorado Bar in 1995.

Mr. Borrell is admitted to practice law before the United States Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit, the United States Federal District Court of New York, Bankruptcy Court, Court of International Trade, and the United States Tax Court. He has been in private practice serving the New York Metropolitan area for more than 35 years.


John Riso
John Riso graduated from St. John's University in 1991 with a Juris Doctorate degree and was admitted to the New York Bar in 1990 and the New Jersey Bar in 1992. He is admitted to practice law before the United States Federal District Courts of New York and New Jersey. Mr. Riso has been a partner at Borrell & Riso, LLP, since 1998.  


Jeffrey F.G. Borrell
Jeffrey F.G. Borrell graduated from Stockton University in 2012 with a BS in Business Management and a minor in Economics.  While attending Stockton, Mr. Borrell interned at the U.S. Department of Interior in the Office of Strategic Employment and Organizational Development in Washington D.C., and was a member of the Stockton History Club.

In 2015, Mr. Borrell graduated from Rutgers School of Law with a Juris Doctorate degree.  While attending Rutgers Law, Mr. Borrell was both a Staff Editor and a Lead Editor for the Rutgers Journal of Law and Religion and participated in the law school's Child and Family Advocacy Clinic.  As a law student, Mr. Borrell was a Summer Law Clerk for the Office of the Chief Counsel at the Federal Railroad Administration in Washington D.C. and interned at the State of New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, Division of Law in Trenton.

Upon graduating from Rutgers Law, Mr. Borrell gained invaluable experience as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable John R. Tassini, J.S.C. before starting at Borrell & Riso, LLP

Mr. Borrell was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 2015 and to the New York Bar in 2016 and is also admitted to practice law in The United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and The United States District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
